“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”

My Family - Captured by Rebecca Finley - December, 2017

I have the gift of seeing people. I don't always see the facade placed before me, but most often I can read the story of your smile, or the stare of your eyes. Many times, it's the way your face doesn’t move when you smile, or the permanence of pain in your greeting. I can see those things, and I can see you.

I realize that may sound obvious, but I also realize there are so many people who feel unseen and even bare in front of the camera. The camera is solely to help you see yourself as God sees you. My job is to find the best way to do that.

A session with me is not typical. I want us to create an image that touches your deeply; an image that begins to change the world because two humans believe in each other and have spoken life into each other. Since photography is viewed by others, I want our images to feed life and light into others since the eye is the lamp of the body.

I wear many hats and am called many things, but my family and my faith are two of the most important aspects of my life. As a result, I take time away from my family very seriously and want to use the most of our time together to really work to create authentic images.
